Source Civil carries out various types of dewatering.
For this project the dewatering consisted of installing a 63mm diameter pipe 5 metres long to create a sleeve, the pipe had perforations along its length to allow ground water enter whereby a 6” suction pipe was inserted at the top and connected to a bunded diesel pump. There were a minimum of two of these sumps per location.
The delivery pipe (a lay flat blue hose) was connected to the pump approx. 50m in length and discharged into an outlet pipe (150mm pipe) at a high level which allowed the settled water to escape into the wayleave. This along with the grass ensured that only clean water was discharged into the area.
